Mr. Ngala has built a distinguished career in public health, epidemiology and military service, bringing a unique blend of experience from his time in the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force and the Department of State. As an epidemiologist with the U.S. Department of State since 2019, he has been central to strengthening global health surveillance and managing medical risk for the diplomatic community. Collaborating with data science and technology teams, he has enhanced the Department's capacity for timely health data analysis, supporting public health initiatives at international posts.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Ngala led critical efforts to distribute vaccines and personal protective equipment across diplomatic missions. His efforts were recognized with a COVID-19 Pandemic Impact Award for his unwavering support of medical staff worldwide. In 2023, Mr. Ngala received the Meritorious Honor Award from the U.S. Department of State for his role in advancing health and safety programs and for his contribution to an interdisciplinary team of occupational health and industrial hygiene experts.

Before joining the Department of State, Mr. Ngala served as an analyst in the Office of the Inspector General at the Environmental Protection Agency in 2018. From 2014 to 2018, he was a medical stability operations officer at the United States European Command (EUCOM) in Stuttgart, Germany, where he supported military readiness and built health partnerships with NATO allies. His leadership helped establish the Balkans Medical Task Force, an initiative designed to strengthen regional medical preparedness. Earlier, from 2012 to 2014, he served as a public health officer with the U.S. Air Force Medical Service, where he rose from lieutenant to major in under nine years, supporting mental health and suicide prevention through data-informed strategies.

Mr. Ngala's military service is notable for its breadth and impact. After immigrating to the United States, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2002 as a non-commissioned officer and served as an M1A1 tank crewman. He participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom, including the Second Battle of Fallujah, gaining vital experience in combat tactics and urban warfare. Motivated by a desire to further serve and contribute to public health, he re-entered military service with the U.S. Air Force in 2012, focusing on occupational health, food safety, disease prevention and medical readiness. His expertise in medical intelligence proved crucial in identifying and mitigating health risks across global deployments.

Mr. Ngala earned a Master of Public Health in epidemiology from Florida International University in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2010. He also holds an International Health Specialist Certification, further underscoring his expertise in global health strategy and disease surveillance.

In addition to his government service, Mr. Ngala is the founder and president of Med Tech Resonance LLC, a small business owned by a service-disabled veteran. The company delivers innovative solutions in epidemiology, data analytics and healthcare strategy, supporting both domestic and international health efforts.

Mr. Ngala's professional affiliations include memberships in the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists, the U.S. Air Force International Health Specialist Association, the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation, and the Air Force Biomedical Science Corps. His civic contributions include involvement with his local church, supporting HIV-positive children in Cameroon and mentoring fellow veterans transitioning into civilian careers.

Mr. Ngala's achievements have earned him numerous honors, including multiple Joint Service Commendation Medals, the Air Force Combat Action Medal and the Meritorious Unit Award. From his Marine Corps service, he also received the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon.

Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Ngala attributes his success to the resilience forged during his upbringing in Africa and the life-changing opportunities afforded by immigrating to the United States. He remains committed to using his experience and platform to bridge markets and communities.
