Mr. Allyn, a seasoned quality engineer with decades of experience, is currently associated with Avery Dennison Corporation. In this role, he supports the manufacturing facilities on day-to-day quality needs and serves as the supplier quality engineer for multiple plants and locations. He is a member of the American Society for Quality, illustrating his commitment to maintaining high standards in his profession.

After graduating from high school in Wickliffe, Ohio, Mr. Allyn enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served with distinction in Germany as a member of the Special Weapons Section of the 1st Battalion, 78th Field Artillery, 2nd Armored Division. He earned an Honorable Discharge in 1980 with the rank of specialist fourth class.

Mr. Allyn began his career as a quality engineer at PCC Airfoils. During this time, he was part of a pioneering team that developed the first single crystal casting for airfoils — a groundbreaking innovation. This achievement set a new standard in the industry and remains a source of pride for him.

In 1995, Mr. Allyn took a position at GE Quartz/Momentive Performance Materials as the company's global quality analyst and technical process leader. During his 12 years there, he developed many innovative inspection techniques and led a Six Sigma team that identified the root cause of a major product line defect and completely eliminated it, reducing the defect rate from 100% to 0%. This project stands out as his most significant professional achievement. His expertise in the manufacturing of quartz products has been instrumental in his career, earning him recognition as an expert in the field.

Mr. Allyn subsequently worked as a quality engineer at GE Transportation, supporting the production of locomotive engines. In this capacity, he played a key role in successfully launching the first locomotive engines to meet government Tier IV emission standards.

Enriching Mr. Allyn's expertise are his numerous certifications and awards, including his designation as an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Analyst, Auditor, and Mechanical Inspector. He is also a Six Sigma Green Belt and an ISO auditor. He attributes his success to hard work and the guidance he received from knowledgeable mentors throughout his career. Outside his professional life, he is actively involved in civic activities as a volunteer for local community initiatives and as a participant in food and clothing drives.

In the coming years, Mr. Allyn plans to transition into part-time work and mentoring. He aims to share the knowledge and experience he has gained from working across various industries, including the aerospace, lighting, semiconductors and medical sectors. Meanwhile, as he prepares for retirement, he envisions spending ample time with family and friends and enjoying country living.
