As an emotional wellness and mindfulness coach, she worked extensively with individuals, integrating techniques like NLP, CBT, and mindfulness to support career development and essential life skills, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.

In addition to her primary role, Dr. Chakraborty has also been working in the field of special education since 2003. With a background in special education focusing on locomotor and neuromuscular disorders, she was deeply moved by the societal stigma faced by individuals with disabilities, which fueled her commitment to advocacy and intervention. She works with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures in school, college and private settings. Currently her work in special education focuses on implementing Applied Behavior Application (ABA) to facilitate academic, vocational, social and self-help skills for kids with Autism.

Dr. Chakraborty's career began with her dissertation on dysarthria, a speech impairment caused by damage to the parts of the nervous system that control the muscles that help one speak. Her research aimed to address the financial barriers to MRI-based diagnosis in India, striving to improve medical accessibility for individuals from low socioeconomic backgrounds.

Dr. Chakraborty's work has been recognized by regional newspapers, and she has received prestigious awards, including university gold medals for academic excellence from the University of Calcutta and Jadavpur University. She was awarded UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), which is a prestigious research grant awarded by the Government of India to top scholars for advanced research. She also received awards at the Indian Academy of Neurology conferences recognizing her research work on dysarthria.

Dr. Chakraborty has contributed to academic discourse, authoring various written works, including "A Neurolinguistic Analysis of Bengali Hyperkinetic Dysarthric Speech," published in the Proceedings of the Indian Conference on Medical Informatics & Telemedicine in 2005, "A Comparative Study of the Spastic and Hypokinetic Dysarthric Speech in Bengali Subjects," published in the Proceedings of the International Symposium Frontiers of Research on Speech and Music in 2007, "Dysarthric Bengali Speech: A neurolinguistic study" published in the Journal of Postgraduate Medicine in 2008, among many others.

Serving as a foundation for her professional success, Dr. Chakraborty earned her doctorate in linguistics with a specialization in neurolinguistics from the University of Calcutta in 2008. She also holds a Master of Science in education with a specialization in reading from California State University, Fullerton, and a master's degree in linguistics from the University of Calcutta. Before she came to the United States, her Bachelor of Education in special education and teaching was obtained from Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India. She also earned her second preliminary mild to moderate education specialist credential from California State University, Fullerton's department of special education. Additionally, she holds numerous educational and behavioral certifications.

Dr. Chakraborty's career journey is marked by diverse roles that highlight her commitment to education and emotional wellness. From 2018 to 2019, she served as a reading instructor at California State University, Fullerton's department of literacy and reading education clinic.
Concurrent with this role, she was a reading specialist at her private clinic from 2019 to 2022. Her earlier experiences include working as a special educator for private organizations from 2004 to 2016 and as a behavior interventionist since 2019. She also contributed as a project assistant at the Central Institute of Indian Languages in 2001 for the preparation of online language teaching materials and as a guest lecturer at Ali Yavar Jung National Institute For The Hearing Handicapped (AYJNIHH) in 2004.

Dr. Chakraborty has furthered her industry work by organizing conferences such as the "2019 Positive Literacy: Bringing Mindfulness and Positivity into Everyday Instruction" and the "Equity and Diversity in Literacy" for the OCRA 2020 conference. She also helped organize various events to promote reading and literacy for the Reading Educators' Guild in 2018-2019.

Outside her professional life, Dr. Chakraborty is deeply committed to her family, community service and personal growth, especially building a solid foundation for her children's academic futures. Her interests include adventure sports, skydiving, dancing, listening to music, writing, Reiki and tarot reading. She volunteered at the Easter Seals Respite Camp in San Diego, CA, providing support to individuals with disabilities and has dedicated her time to different organizations, assisting underprivileged individuals regardless of class, creed or religion.

Dr. Chakraborty envisions creating a global movement where people embrace their emotions proudly. She dreams of becoming a motivational speaker and an accomplished writer whose books impact millions worldwide. Her vision also includes establishing an "emotional room," a space designed to help individuals process their emotions through interactive techniques, ultimately building emotional resilience and strength. As she continues her journey, she also aims to revitalize her private clinic named "Reading Doctors Clinic."
