Mr. Griffin has dedicated four decades to the insurance industry, establishing himself as a prominent figure in business insurance, commercial coverage, general liability and worker's compensation. As the president of Insurance People of North Carolina since 1989, he has been instrumental in shaping the company's direction and success. Mr. Griffin's responsibilities include hiring staff, liaising with insurance companies and clients, developing innovative insurance programs and engaging in advocacy work. His legislative efforts span various sectors, including hospitality, health care, education and construction.

Before his tenure at Insurance People of North Carolina, Mr. Griffin contributed to the Learning Resource Network by creating informative videos of colleges. These videos were placed in counselors' offices to help students learn more about educational opportunities before the advent of the Internet. This early experience in communication and education laid the groundwork for Mr. Griffin's later achievements in advocacy and legislation.

Mr. Griffin's educational background included obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in speech communications from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 1982. Additionally, he holds the designation of accredited advisor in insurance, further solidifying his expertise in the insurance industry.

Dedicated to professional and civic engagement, Mr. Griffin has been involved with several organizations. He has been active with the North Carolina Home Builders Association since 1985. He has also participated in governmental affairs with the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association and the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina. Mr. Griffin is a member of the North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild and has been an advocate for several charter schools. His dedication to community service extends to his work on homelessness issues and supporting health care initiatives for cancer patients.

Mr. Griffin's contributions were recognized when he was named Director of the Year by the Home Builder Association for Durham, Orange and Chatham County.

As a family-oriented individual with two daughters, Mr. Griffin hopes to continue his legacy by having his children take over his company someday. In the meantime, he remains committed to his work while advocating for important issues he feels are significant.
