Dr. Hage is a distinguished board-certified neurosurgeon with a focus on cerebrovascular, endovascular and skull base neurosurgery. He currently serves as the head of cerebrovascular neurosurgery at Novant Health Greater Charlotte Region, where he performs brain surgery and minimally invasive endovascular procedures, sees patients and occasionally undertakes administrative duties as the head of the department. He is widely recognized for his expertise in multiple specialized areas of neurosurgery and his passion for saving lives.

Prior to reaching his current role at Novant Health, Dr. Hage was the institution's lead physician for cerebrovascular, endovascular and skull base neurosurgery from 2018 to 2021. His career at Novant Health began in 2016 when he served as an attending neurosurgeon for these specialties.

In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Hage actively contributes to academia as an adjunct associate professor at Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine. He previously was clinical instructor at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 2014 to 2016. His dedication to his students' education and well-being has been recognized with multiple teaching accolades.

As an ongoing commitment to his field, Dr. Hage is a member of prestigious organizations such as the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery, the American College of Surgeons and the American Heart Association. He is also recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Fellow of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. As a presenter at multiple prestigious national and international meetings, he continues to share his knowledge and advancements as a leading figure in neurosurgery.

Dr. Hage's equally accomplished educational background laid a strong foundation for his successful career. He completed a residency in neurosurgery and received a fellowship in cerebrovascular, endovascular and skull base neurosurgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago, 2008-2016. Prior to that, he was a postdoctoral research fellow in neurosurgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, 2006-2008. Before immigrating to the United States in 2006, he earned a Doctor of Medicine from the American University of Beirut in 2004 after obtaining a Bachelor of Science in biology in 2000. Though his career counts many significant milestones, he is especially proud to have become a neurosurgeon in the United States despite arriving in the country with no initial connections.

Dr. Hage's passion for medicine was influenced by his family; his father was a medical oncologist and his uncle was a radiation oncologist. His early exposure to a medical environment inspired him to pursue a career in medicine with a particular interest in becoming a surgeon specializing in the nervous system and brain. He credits his perfectionist personality and rigorous education as key factors that helped him become a successful neurosurgeon and achieve board certification by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Hage is actively involved in civic endeavors. He served on the board of directors and was neurosurgery society liaison for the North Carolina Chapter of the American College of Surgeons from 2020 to 2023. He engages in charity work with multiple charitable organizations. In his personal life, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children, flying high-level remote-controlled helicopters and airplanes, snow skiing, boating, water skiing and traveling.

In the coming years, Dr. Hage intends to continue growing his practice while enhancing his expertise through research and technological advancements in collaboration with industry partners. His dedication to patient care and saving lives remains paramount as he strives to make additional contributions to the field of neurosurgery.
