Dr. Qing has studied nuclear medicine for more than 20 years and has been practicing at the Royal Oak and Troy locations of the Beaumont Heath System since 2006. He is also a professor of diagnostic radiology and molecular imaging at Oakland University, William Beaumont School of Medicine. Dr. Qing has co-published several articles and scientific research papers in peer-reviewed publications in the field of nuclear medicine.
Dr. Qing holds an MD in clinical medicine, earned in 1986, and a master's degree in pathophysiology from China Medical University, which he achieved in 1989. He also obtained a Ph.D. in medicine from Imperial College of London in 1996. Dr. Qing completed postdoctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis, where he performed clinical research using PET scans at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology and the Division of Pulmonary and Clinical Care Medicine. He was a PET/CT fellow in the Department of Radiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Further, Dr. Qing completed residencies at several locations, including Spectrum Health, Brigham and Women's Hospital and the State University of New York in the Anesthesiology Services Department.
When not practicing nuclear medicine, Dr. Qing serves on the board of directors of the American College of Nuclear Medicine and is a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Qing is board certified through the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, and is licensed to practice in Michigan and Iowa. In his free time he enjoys swimming.
