NAPERVILLE, IL, May 27, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- New Technology provides higher accuracy and sensitivity for the Wii gaming system controllers.
Nintendo has developed an add-on for the Wii gaming controller to provide higher precision and sensitivity. This add-on adds about an inch and a half to the standard Wii controller and only weighs about 8 ounces.
Using a state of the art Super Slow Motion camera to record 5000 frames per second, they have been able to view the body's interaction with the controller on a highly precise level to better reproduce the results of real life scenarios for games like Wii Sports Resort. Standard video cameras record at about 30 frames per second, so you can imagine the level of detail they are able to obtain by recording at 5000 frames per second.
According to Nintendo, the device enhances the existing accelerometer and sensor bar capabilities of the standard Wii and enables actions in game to be rendered identically to the person using the controller in real time. It incorporates a dual axis angular rate sensor, to determine the rotation of the controller. This allows for much more complex movements than the standard Wii controller.
In combination with the coming release of Wii Sports Resort, the sequel to Wii Sports, this is sure to be a big hit for Wii fans everywhere.
