COLUMBUS, OH, June 26, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Local dentistry, Grove City Family Dentistry, is proud to announce Dr. Paula Zimmerman has been nationally recognized for her work with Invisalign, and is a finalist in the Invisalign Summit GP Case Shoot-out at the annual conference in Las Vegas, Nevada July 9-12.
"This type of honor lets people know that having a lot of experience really does matter with Invisalign," Dr. Zimmerman said. "Invisalign is definitely a passion for me and I try to keep educating myself and continue learning everything I can. It's nice to be recognized for it."
The Invisalign Summit Case Shoot-out is a national competition for dentists who provide Invisalign, and only four finalists are selected to present at the annual Summit conference. The requirements for cases submitted include impressive before and after records, excellent dentistry in combination with tooth alignment, improvements to overall oral health, function and stability, less invasive approaches to esthetic solutions, and, of course, interesting patient stories. Dr. Zimmerman, the only finalist from Ohio, will be presenting her winning case submission to 1,500 of her peers at the conference.
Dr. Zimmerman's winning case was a patient in his early 20s named Mark. He came to Grove City Family Dentistry for Invisalign in 2007. Dr. Zimmerman describes this particular case as having a real wow-factor, from the before and after pictures to the tremendous change in Mark's confidence.
"When Mark first started coming to see me, he was very shy, wasn't very talkative in the office, and even appeared disinterested in the process," Dr. Zimmerman said. "However, by the end of his Invisalign experience, Mark was confident, came in early to chat with the girls in the office, and so on. The only change in his life was his teeth, and he had an entirely different presence and confidence."
At the July conference, Dr. Zimmerman will share Mark's case with a presentation highlighting digital imaging, sharing before and after pictures, and details about Mark's experience. She has been to the Invisalign GP Summit several times, and is extremely proud to be representing Grove City Family Dentistry as an Invisalign expert and presenter. A handful of the GCFD staff will join Dr. Zimmerman in Vegas, and all will participate in lectures, seminars, round-table discussions and social events to continue their Invisalign education.
Invisalign education is important for dentists nationwide, especially because many dentists are certified to provide Invisalign care, but only do three or four cases a year. Dr. Zimmerman proudly completes 30-40 cases a year. Her experience has earned her the title of "premier provider," which means she has completed between 75 and 100 Invisalign cases. She is only a few cases away from earning the "premier provider elite" title. In addition, in 2005, Dr. Zimmerman earned the award for "Top Doctor in Midwest," for submitting more Invisalign cases than anyone in the Midwest. Adding to her credibility, Dr. Zimmerman is the only distinguished provider of Invisalign Teen in Columbus, which is a huge honor, considering a large portion of Invisalign patients are in their teens or early 20s.
