About Abbott Krieger, MD

Dr. Krieger's interest in respiration, specifically the abnormality related to sleep apnea, led him to study at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (1968-1970) where he eared a doctorate of medical sciences. During this time he identified an ascending respiratory pathway in the spinal cord that plays an active role in respiratory control.

Dr. Krieger continues with research and clinical work. His emphasis remains with his original interest, the neurological basis of respiration and the surgical interventions to improve it. He has completed intercostal to phrenic nerve graft procedures in human quadriplegic subjects in Brazil, Turkey, England, Switzerland, Israel, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is encouraged by the positive results of these procedures.

He currently works with his son, Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Lloyd Krieger, who specializes in Beverly Hills breast augmentation.
