Prize Payout Gives Anniversary Couple a Welcome Surprise!

Mr and Mrs Hammond from Sonning Common in Reading, had entered the exclusive "Golden Ticket" prize draw, after purchasing Thomas Sanderson's bespoke conservatory blinds back in May 2009.

The news came as a delightful surprise to Mrs Hammond when she received the telephone call confirming the couple's windfall, especially as this month marks their 67th Wedding Anniversary, meaning the prize payout will help with the celebrations.

Mr and Mrs Hammond first contacted the company back in 2007 and bought tailor-made, pleated window blinds for their Victorian conservatory. The warm apricot-coloured blinds transformed their extension, and Mr and Mrs Hammond called the company again in May to complete the room with specialist shaped blinds for the roof. Their local Thomas Sanderson designer; Jonathan Storey, visited the Hammonds again to present the full range as part of Thomas Sanderson's in-home design service. The couple were given an exclusive Golden Ticket once they had purchased and were entered into the company's monthly prize draw, but thought nothing more of the competition, and looked forward to the installation of their new blinds.

Mrs Hammond, 87, said: "Thomas Sanderson came to our home to measure up for the blinds and the young man suggested we enter the prize draw. We decided to do it for a laugh. We never win anything ever, not even a raffle. "We got our conservatory two and a half years ago and we love it. We wish we had got it sooner. The blinds are the final touch. We get a lot of sun in it and they cut down the glare so that we can enjoy it for longer. "The conservatory blinds are in wild apricot. It's a lovely shade - nice and cool. "Getting all our money back was wonderful."

Their designer Jonathan, returned to the property again this week to present the Hammonds with their cheque for GBP3305, plus a bottle of champagne to toast the couple's Anniversary celebrations.
