WSO2 Brings Best of SOA Summer School Lessons to Free Encore Class

    MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, August 10, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Understanding state-of-the-art SOA practices, technologies and standards can mean the difference between whether a service-oriented architecture soars or stalls. That is why more than 1,000 IT professionals have taken advantage of the WSO2 SOA Summer School program to expand their SOA expertise. The free eight-week SOA course ran June 18-August 6.

Now, by popular demand, WSO2 is providing a special wrap-up session to review the top SOA implementation best practices. Enterprise architects, developers, consultants and business analysts are invited to attend "Best of SOA Summer School." This interactive, online class is being offered at no cost. The three-hour Best of SOA Summer School session will help attendees to gain an overall understanding of SOA concepts and approaches to implementing end-to-end SOA solutions. The class will start by reviewing the SOA enterprise architecture patterns that were introduced in the first SOA Summer School session. Then, the course will dive into SOA implementation scenarios for scalability--onsite or in the cloud, enterprise service bus (ESB) optimization, security, mashups, governance, and business process management (BPM). Also included will be a discussion on how C++ can provide better SOA performance.

The SOA course will be led by senior technical experts at WSO2. Asanka Abeysinghe, WSO2 architect, will serve as moderator. He will be joined by Samisa Abysinghe, WSO2 director, engineering; Prabath Siriwardena, WSO2 security lead; Ruwan Linton, WSO2 ESB product lead; Keith Chapman, WSO2 Mashup Server product lead; and Nandika Jayawardena WSO2 WSF/C++ product lead.
