The burial chambers of the Egyptian King were discovered 87 years ago by archaeologist Howard Carter, who uncovered dozens of ancient treasures at the same time.

Now, visitors have the opportunity to view more than 1,000 replica objects and see how his tomb would have once looked.

Objects on show include leather sandals which depict the king stamping on his enemies, a number of chests with ancient inscriptions and a model of the lion-headed Goddess Sachmet on her throne.

Those visiting the exhibition can learn about the tomb's discovery and also about the life of the king himself.

A series of spectacular photographs of the original tomb and surrounding chambers will be on display.

Tutankhamun became a pharaoh at the age of seven and died in mysterious circumstances at 19.

His name was removed from all monuments and records by his successors, leaving him to fade into obscurity until Carter's remarkable discovery thousands of years later.

The exhibition can be found at the Event Arena in the Olympiapark in Munich, with adult tickets costing 16 euros (GBP13.53) Monday to Friday and 19 euros on Saturday and Sunday.
