ORLANDO, FL, August 29, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Central Florida Internet marketing company Three Stars Inc. donated over $4000 in school supplies raised by its charity flag football league to the children of Ivey Lane Homes. Families were invited to the league's championship games on August 14th for a barbecue lunch where children received backpacks full of back-to-school essentials for a successful new school year.
Three Stars employees distributed some 300 backpacks with supplies required by their school. Funds were raised by Score for the Future, the Three Stars intra-company charity football league. Each season, company teams compete and a pledge of five dollars is added to the charity fund for each point scored. Three Stars selects a different charity each season to benefit from the fund.
"With the season ending so close to school starting, it just seemed natural to donate the money to a back-to-school drive," said Executive Vice President Kelly Romero. "We decided to work with Ivey Lane because we had such a good experience with them during our Christmas toy drive last December." In 2008, Santa delivered over 1200 toys to the community from high atop his sleigh, all donated by Three Stars employees.
