MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, September 12, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Those staying in hotels in London this October can expect to find some very spooky goings-on around the Greenwich area of the city.
For visitors who dare to venture there on Halloween night, there will be several special events taking place, including ghost walks though the dark streets and alleyways, workshops, storytelling sessions and theatrical performances.
Organised by Greenwich Tours, the walks cost GBP5 per person and explores the dark past of the area, focusing on tales of ghouls and murders.
Meanwhile, those who are too scared to venture out after the sun goes down can take part in a Halloween Prize Trail between 10am and 4.30pm, which is suitable for people over the age of seven and leads through the Royal Observatory.
Greenwich is said to be populated by numerous "ghostly characters" and has been the "scene of several sinister tales" relating to its royal and maritime connections.
Some of the locations rumoured to be haunted include the Old Royal Naval College, Queen's House, Greenwich Park and Greenwich Theatre.
The theatre is said to be haunted by an actress from the early 1900s, who has been seen floating through the restaurant dressed in white, with just her lower half visible.
For those heading to the capital looking for London hotels there is a variety of luxury to cheap London hotels on offer.
