Jackson Design & Remodeling Wins Two San Diego National Kitchen and Bath Association Awards

    SAN DIEGO, CA, September 20, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jackson Design & Remodeling (JDR) today announces it has won two San Diego National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) awards for best Powder Room and best Small Bathroom.

This was the first year the San Diego NKBA held a design competition. The awards, presented this week at the annual joint chapters meeting in San Juan Capistrano, were awarded in six categories: Large Kitchen, Small Kitchen, Large Bath, Small Bath, Powder Room and Other.

JDR Senior Designer Tatiana Machado-Rosas designed the award-winning bathrooms. Key elements of the small bathroom include: leather-like wall tile, eye-catching glass mosaics that sparkle in a geometric grid of earth tone colors, a white quartz countertop that makes a bold and clean statement against dark, frameless cabinetry, and dramatically deep niches that allow open storage for towels and modern accessories that personalize the space within the shower.

The powder room uses tall ceilings to create a bold, linear statement. To compliment the height in a minimalistic fashion, a floor to ceiling back splash avoids any distracting seams. A unique and interesting geometric tile mosaic undulates in a grid pattern. Floating out from the tile is a custom designed sink with clean, organic lines carved out of an environmentally friendly-cast stone.
