COLLIERVILLE, TN, November 04, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Although dedicated to the author's grandmothers, these are not your grandmother's poems. Macaroni Miracles explores age-old subject's one rhyme at a time with a fresh perspective and street-smart brand of Christianity. Each piece has a purpose; to provoke a thought, heal a wound, spark a smile, answer a question, or send the reader directly to a box of tissue. It's an inspiring pint-size book about life-size hope, from an author who has lost and found hope many times over. A self-proclaimed "Mad Woman" and survivor of childhood, Macaroni Miracles is full of passionate prose and nostalgic memories. Poignant questions are asked and potential answers given with enough controversy to have this book "talked about." In the chapter Poetically Corrected; Ten Fingers Ten Toes will call out abortion for what it is and in the same chapter, a list of Heroes ranges from Glenn Beck to Kathy Griffin. Women will "get" Be Right All the Time or Be Married while connecting with The Perfect Shade of Grace and Among Women. Anyone carrying a grudge should read Stanford Inn Mendocino Room 221 and the title poem Macaroni Miracles is a snapshot of Sundays with the big family behind the little miracles.
Wife, mother, and retired marketing executive, author Kathleen Dempsey currently resides in Northern California with her husband and Miniature Schnauzers, Frankie and Freddie. Her career includes; copywriting for regional television and radio, media buying, event planning, public relations and economic development. Macaroni Miracles is her publishing debut.
"This book is woven together with a common thread of forgiveness and unconditional love." says Dempsey. "I have experienced painful seasons in my life as well as joyful times and tranquil seas. But regardless o f the situation, I always had my family and my faith. Macaroni Miracles is a chance for me to share both." Kathleen was born and raised in Utica, New York, spent many summers and vacations in Boston and on Cape Cod and remains devoted to both her Irish and Italian heritage. She feels blessed that she experienced both loving communities and their colorful legacy, including a keen spiritual awareness and deep faith.
"I want my words to speak to both 'the choir' and 'non-choir' members. Christ came to save all of us. He is the real hope and change. I know this from personal experience. Macaroni Miracles should encourage Christians and reach those who have not yet experienced God's grace in a non- threatening, entertaining way."
Each poem has a Bible reference footnote with a meaning shadowing that scripture. Photos are of family members and taken by her father, William J. Dempsey, then chronicled and preserved by her mother, Annette Robilotto Dempsey.
