As a preview, Friedman is stating that against all odds, former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich will not be convicted of the charges in his corruption case.

HISTORY:
In 1999, on CBS-2 NEWS Chicago, he predicted the landing point of Hurricane Floyd. In 2002 on that same station and others, he predicted Steve Fossett's successful first-time-ever circumnavigation of the globe in a balloon.

In 2000, on ABC-TV's THE VIEW he foresaw Martha Stewart's legal troubles. In 2005, he stated on FOX NEWS CHICAGO that the Mississippi River would significantly change course, and amazingly this was accurate as a result of Hurricane Katrina and the broken levees.

Sidney Friedman states:

"I'm not someone who knows all and sees all, but I can foresee part of what's coming, a few hints of what's ahead. Sometimes I completely miss, but often I hit on something big. Friedman began publicly stating his forecast in 1996, and in total he has been 67% accurate, and often as high as 78%. His biggest failure is that each and every year he also comically predicts the Chicago Cubs will make it to the World Series. "That's my desire speaking," says Friedman, "not my my brain."

More intuitively accurate than his annual CUBS prediction, in 2008, the tally had Friedman hitting on 20-plus out of 30 predictions for a 68% accuracy. Some of them included the Obama prognostication, oil prices dropping 20% from the year's opening of $99 a barrel, a gun incident surrounding Britney Spears, actors boycotting the Golden Globes, wild fluctuations in the stock market, and 3 out of 4 Oscar predictions correct. Ironically, here's what Friedman says about the art of predicting:
