/24-7PressRelease/ - April 11, 2006 - In the spirit of Easter, the joyful resurrection and eternal life in Christ we greet all the brothers and sisters of the Old Catholic Church, our Orthodox brothers and sisters and all those who receive this Easter message in the spirit of peace.
Peace, security and harmony have most certainly been scarce in much of the world over the past year.
We are daily witnesses to the atrocious spectacle of lamentable conflict in Iraq, which un-reels new horrors every day. We pray for those that experience even greater perils in war, than soldiers themselves, those who are sick, the aged, women and children. The constant and familiar face of such hostility is the suffering poor. We pray for the defenceless Iraqi civilians caught and crushed in a ruthless struggle. The destiny of men and an end to their dissension is surely in the hands of our Lord. Our most powerful and safest haven of trust and peace is found in prayer to God almighty.
We pray that influential powers develop a spirit of moral sincerity, responsibility and willingness to build upon the ruins of war, lasting peace, and a just solidarity among men.
We ask aggressive powers to discontinue the development of barbarous weapons; each man will have to answer alone, for what he has destroyed, for what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world, and lose his soul.( Mark viii. 36) how trivial then are the kingdoms and riches of this world, when one soul outweighs them all.
The price of a soul, man's redemption price was the holy and precious blood of Christ, Shed in his passion, for the salvation of humanity.
Adam was a perfect man, until he fell into sin and death. The cost of redeeming mankind back from Satan was perfect blood.
This blood, causes the remission of sin, purchased us from death, redeems us, justifies us, broke the partition between man and God, and the dissention between nations, all nations and races, Jew and gentile came to God. This blood forges an everlasting covenant between the believer and God. it brought peace, purges our consciences from dead works, it lets us enter into the most holiest place, before the throne of God, this blood of life, washes us and sanctifies us.
Jesus redeemed us from eternal death with his own blood. It is up to mankind, to make himself worthy of the price Christ paid.
