Celebrate Fasching in Munich this February

    MUNICH, GERMANY, January 13, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People who are booking breaks in Munich hotels this winter may want to coincide their visit with the conclusion of the carnival season in Germany.

Fasching is traditionally celebrated on Shrove Tuesday and represents the culmination of party season lasting more than three months.

On February 14th, thousands of people will take to the streets around Munich to either watch or participate in a colourful parade, known as Faschingsumzug in German.

Decorated lorries carrying revellers in outlandish costumes will make their way through the city in a spectacular carnival procession.

This will be followed by a night of partying, when everyone traditionally goes out in fancy dress.
