Prague's Bohemian Carnival 'Offers Something for Everyone'

    PRAQUE, January 13, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anyone who has booked Prague hotels this winter may be looking forward to the Bohemian Carnival, which will take over the city's streets at the beginning of February.

What's On When describes it as "a spectacular street event", featuring "more than allegorical costumes".

It will run from February 6th to 15th and includes the must-see spectacle of the Candelion - Grand Defile, a parade featuring lanterns and masks.

The carnival is divided into four sections, with culinary delights, evening parties and art shows all featuring on the programme.

Salon at Clam-Gallas begins with a look behind the scenes of the carnival, with a glimpse of a dressing room and a photographic studio.

Galactico is the second stage of the event, which comprises of a series of art displays and evening parties for adults.

The festival's food feast is called Cuisine d'Alchemiste and is hosted by several restaurants around the city.

Finally, a number of parades are held around the Czech capital's streets, under the banner of Divertimento Furioso.

The Bohemian Carnival has its origins in traditions dating back to medieval times.
