HUDSON, WI, January 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After a year of excellent growth and record profits, Docucopies.com, the web's leader in low-cost color copies and printing, is carefully considering where to donate a significant sum of money.
The company, who plan to donate $5,000, are researching a number of local, national and international charities and non-profits. They want to make sure to choose one that promotes worthy causes and that also gives the maximum amount of donated money straight to the causes they help, rather than to administrative and other costs.
"Donating money to charity isn't something you do just to feel good, particularly as a corporation," says Marketing Director Jeff Corbo. "We want to make sure that the money we donate is actually going to help make a difference for a cause we believe in."
Among the various types of charities they are considering are ones that deal with hunger and poverty, education and literacy, refugees from war and genocide, women's rights in developing countries, humane treatment and care for animals, sustainable forestry, pollution and other environmental concerns, and disaster relief for areas like Haiti. They have specifically ruled out charities which are religious or politically partisan in nature.
"While there are tons of political and faith-based organizations that do great work to help people, we believe it would be more representative of our company and our customers to donate to organizations which are neither religious nor political in nature," says Corbo. "Where you give your time and money says a lot about you, and we don't want our customers to feel like they're supporting something they don't believe in."
