MILAN, ITALY, February 04, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This spring, people staying at hotels in Milan will be able to enjoy a taste of the orient if they head to one fascinating exhibition being held in the city.
Japan - Power and Splendour 1568-1868 celebrates everything that was great about the eastern country during the timeframe and uses a selection of paintings, masks, weapons and fabrics to bring a truly authentic feel to the spectacle.
These have been borrowed from Tokyo National Museum, which is the oldest and largest establishment of its kind in the country.
Taking place at the Palazzo Reale, which is one of the most important cultural centres in Milan, the exhibit has been organised by Giancarlo Calza, a professor of East Asian art history who has a wealth of experience in organising reviews of Japanese art.
As a result, visitors may be safe in the knowledge that they will be viewing a memorable collection that really helps to bring this period in Japanese history to life.
More than 100 pieces will be on display and it could be the perfect introduction to Japanese heritage for those who have not seen anything like this before.
The exhibition is open until March 8th and tickets cost EUR8 (GBP6.91) or EUR7.50 for concessions.
Visitors are welcome from 14:30 - 19:30 local time on Mondays and 09:30 - 19:30 for the rest of the week, apart from Thursdays, when the exhibit is open until 22:30.
If you're heading to Japan - Power and Splendour this year, we strongly advise that you book your hotel Milano as soon as possible, given the huge popularity of the event.
