SANTA CLARA, CA, February 25, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- E-Book Systems, creator of the patented Digital Flip(R) e-publishing technology, announces Frederick Community College (FCC) has adopted its 3-D page-flipping FlipViewer(R) Xpress viewer format for its Spring 2010 Class Schedules.
Founded in 1957, FCC provides outstanding, affordable courses, programs and activities for all ages from youngsters in their Kids on Campus program, up to a senior in the Institute for Learning in Retirement. The campus also offers myriad cultural events year-round, from art shows to free concert productions and FCC-produced dramas. Their sports teams are often ranked regionally and many have earned berths to national championships.
We chose FlipViewer(R) Xpress Creator software because it is easy to use. It produces quality book-like documents, and offers useful end-user options like print, search, zoom and flipping sound. We are particularly impressed with the speed at which large documents can be viewed and browsed compared to a PDF," said Cindy Osbon, Web Services Director of FCC.
FCC started offering the Class Schedules in PDF format, but will over time drop the PDF option in favor of FlipViewer(R) Xpress FlipBook format, as explained by Cindy, "So far the readers' response has been good. We wanted to start small and let users get used to the FlipViewer(R) Xpress software. We will drop the separate view PDF online option at some point since users will be able to get the PDF version from the FlipBook too. The FlipBook format is more popular for online viewing but many users still like to have the PDF file on their PCs for some reason."
With E-Book Systems' FlipViewer(R) Xpress solution, readers can go to http://www.frederick.edu/register_now/classschedules.aspx and browse through the FlipBook versions of the Class Schedules. In a matter of moments, readers can view the Class Schedules just as they would appear in print -- with real "flipping" pages and more.
Besides the Class Schedules, FCC also planned to use FlipViewer(R) Xpress in other publications as Cindy further disclosed, "We plan to use FlipViewer(R) Xpress for many more publications including our catalogs, foundation newsletters, student newspapers, campus master plan, budget books and many others. We especially like FlipViewer(R) Xpress features like search, hyperlink, print and share. The FlipViewer(R) Xpress Creator software certainly meets our requirements. The staff at your company was a pleasure to work with as well. They were very patient and answered many of our questions."
E-Book Systems' FlipViewer(R) Xpress Creator software enables publishers and corporations to create and publish realistic page-flipping digital publications ("FlipBooks") easily with just a few mouse clicks. The created FlipBook can then be hosted on any web server for online viewing or distributed through any media (e.g. CD, thumb drive, etc.) for offline viewing. The software accepts any PDF, image and Flash documents as inputs. In addition, multimedia elements like audio and video files can be incorporated into the FlipBook to enhance readers' experience. E-Book Systems' optional Digital Rights Management (DRM) solution also helps to safeguard content providers' intellectual properties.
