Mafi conquers The Big Apple: Entering the market in style

Vulcano Oak and Vulcano Nero natural wood floors are to be delivered for the American hotelier Ian Schragers' new luxury apartments. The door to the American market for luxury class interiors has been opened for the upper austrian manufacturer of designer floors. "With this large and highly prestigious contract in the USA, we really hit the big time" says Fritz Fillafer, the General Manager of Mafi Holzverarbeitungs Ltd. He adds "Once we've got our foot in the door with the big league designers, the brand name Mafi will spread by itself." Fillafer assures that this is not the first contract in America "We've already worked with interior designers on villa projects in various American cities including Malibu, Miami, Vail, Dallas as well as Mexico city.

The apartment complex "40 Bond" in NoHo New York is hitting the headlines before it's even been built. Not to mention that the Swiss star architect duo Herzog and de Meuron are planning the 27 unit luxury class complex. They have envisioned an 11-story façade made entirely of cast glass with a greenish Coke-bottle hue, extravagent light installations from Jasper Morrison as well as open fireplaces and 24 hour a day hotel service for the 22 loft style dwellings and 5 town houses with private gardens. " Our Mafi Vulcano floor in Oak and Nero will not only be in all the rooms and on all stairs, but will be used in the kitchen and on the bathroom doors and walls as well.
