Wix.com Introduces New HTML Component and Better Server Maintenance

Wix.com is now excited to announce a further development to its website builder. Wix users will now be able to embed an HTML component into their Flash website. This development is in response to user requests through the Wix wish list through which the company stays attuned to its users needs.

Embedding html code into the website equips users with an broad range of new features that can now be added to a website. For example, Wix users can now include polls, Google calendars, blogs, audio and all sorts of unique effects that can take their website to the next level. Another major development taking place at Wix this week has been occurring behind the scenes, in the company's server infrastructure. Wix typically runs its server maintenance work overnight. What this means, is that while most users are sleeping, Wix technicians have been busy ensuring the website builder performance it at its absolute best. However, since Wix users live around the globe, this method had its set of hiccups. From now on, the Wix server will be segmented and will no longer rely on a "single core of gravity" as it was phrased by one Wix executive. This is part of what is described as the "always on" model. This technical segmentation is also expected to issue a series of further future improvements in the Wix server performance.
