SHANGHAI, CHINA, April 04, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Collectors will find plenty of items to appeal to all tastes at the Shanghai Fine Jewellery and Art Fair.
The Shanghai Exhibition Center will play host to the annual event, which is set to take place from May 16th to May 23rd.
Some of the most exclusive galleries in the world will be exhibiting their wares at the fair, which was originally founded in 2007.
Collectors can rest assured that all of the items for sale - including pieces of modern art, antiques, jewels and paintings - are genuine, as they are inspected by a committee of experts before the fair begins.
Among the rare items on display is a set of Japanese-inspired furniture by Gabriel Viardot which was previously exhibited at the 1889 World Expo in Paris.
Some 60 exhibitors are expected to take part in the event, hailing from countries such as Canada, Russia, Spain, Monaco, Italy, The Netherlands, Germany, England and France.
According to organisers, the event is one "not to be missed by any fine art connoisseur".
The 2010 art and jewellery fair coincides with the Shanghai World Expo, allowing visitors staying in hotels in Shanghai the opportunity to experience both events during their time in the city.
An estimated 70 million visitors are expected to flock to Shanghai for the expo, which will take place between May 1st and October 31st.
