    BILBAO, SPAIN, April 06, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nacho Vegas is playing a concert in Bilbao that may appeal to fans of Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake and other such singer-songwriters.

Described by Last.fm as a prominent figure in Spain's indie music scene, Vegas kicked off his solo career in 2001 after previously working with Eliminator Jr and Manta Ray in the 1990s.

The internet hub explained: "His lyrics are painful and celebratory, pathetic and grand, brutally lucid and of an intimate beauty; a desperate philosophy of survival shines with a wicked sense of humour and a longing for the divine."

Playing at Kafe Antzokia on May 6th, guests at Bilbao hotels will be able to enjoy the songs of this intense singer and guitarist, who has also been compared to Tom Waits and Nick Cave.

His tunes range from more acoustic efforts where rich atmospheres are created using accordions and harmonicas, to harder songs involving layers of distortion and electric guitars.

The Gijon-born singer has not released a long-play record since 2008's El Manifiesto Desastre, but he has been busy with EPs and other projects since then.

Tickets for the gig are available online from EUR15 (GBP13.35), with doors opening at 21:30 (local time).

Also playing that week at the Kafe Antzokia are Los Secretos, Zoe and the Skatalites.
