HALIFAX, NS, April 15, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Malcolm Fraser, Founder and President of ISL web marketing and development, has been recently appointed as a Board member of both the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies (AIMS) and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (AGNS).
A passion for the arts
Malcolm starts a 3-year term on the AGNS Board of Governors, which is made up of qualified professionals who share a passion for the creative culture of Nova Scotia and want to shape the future of the art community.
"The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia plays an integral role in preserving a significant part of our culture and I am honoured to help play a part in that," says Fraser. "The creative culture of Nova Scotia has always been an important part of my life and as artistic forms of digital media evolve I want to ensure that we, as a province, evolve too."
Ray Cronin, Director and CEO of AGNS, states, "I am thrilled that Malcolm Fraser has been appointed to our Board of Governors, and look forward to working with him over the next three years. Malcolm's entrepreneurial spirit, his commitment to Nova Scotia, and his firm belief in the importance of culture as a pillar of our society all make him a great fit for the Board of AGNS."
Affinity for public policy
AIMS is an independent economic and social policy think tank. Given Malcolm's demonstrated passion for shaping the economic development of this province, it was a natural choice.
Charles Cirtwill, President and CEO of AIMS, comments "AIMS has very simple criteria when seeking Board members: we want leaders, regional, national, and international leaders. People who have both vision and a willingness to roll up their sleeves and work to make that vision a reality. Malcolm Fraser fits those criteria to a T. He is the 'next generation' of leaders for our community, our region and our country and AIMS looks forward to growing along with him."
An enthusiastic Fraser comments, "There is not enough debate about public policy in this province. Something so important deserves a great deal of attention as it affects us all."
Malcolm's recent involvement with Citizens for Halifax has propelled his need to influence positive change in Nova Scotia. Fraser states, "I want to get citizens engaged about the future of this province, which is why I have dedicated so much of my time through organizations like AIMS and Citizens for Halifax."
Fraser has the utmost confidence in the newly appointed leaders of both organizations. Fraser comments,"I feel the new leaders at the helm of both AIMS and the AGNS will take their respective organisations to new levels of success. I look forward to working closely with my fellow Board members and the Executive of both of these institutions in upcoming years."
