PARIS, FRANCE, April 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Paris is all set to host the Long Night of Museums, in which hundreds of artistic and cultural spaces are opened up to the public for free and do not close until the early hours of the next morning.
This may be a dream come true for some tourists in Paris hotels, since queuing and costs and can often be a problem in the French capital, particularly at some of the larger and more significant venues.
Taking place on May 15th, the event does not just see some of the most famous landmarks such as the Louvre open until 01:00 local time the next day, there are also competitions, debates and other occasions to attend.
One change that has taken place this year - it has been running since 2001 - is that social media services like Twitter, Flickr and Facebook will be used to help publicise all the events going on and share experiences.
"Participating museums are announced in the run-up to the day, but it is almost certain that there will be a free museum in your vicinity," stated listings website What's on When.
The event now takes place in many museums across Europe in destinations ranging from Berlin and Zurich to Bucharest and Riga.
Check the festival website for a full list of participating venues and their opening times.
To make the most of the Long Night of Museums, you should consider booking your hotel Paris to avoid disappointment.
