For the last eight years, Mr. Efaw has been operating Chris' Pizza & Pub, a New York-style pub and pizzeria that is popular for its pasta, fresh-made soup, hot and cold subs, and pizza with hundreds of topping combinations. He is largely self-taught in the industry and relishes having the opportunity to prove that one does not need higher education in order to be successful. Mr. Efaw has since expanded his operations to 21 employees and even bigger locations. He takes pride in having fought hard to get to where he is today, and attributes his success to his upbringing.

Mr. Efaw has come a long way from his humble beginnings in a small coal mining town in West Virginia. Determined to make something of himself, he left his hometown in 1997 and unceremoniously began his food service career as a part-time delivery boy for a friend who owned a bakery. He later obtained a position with a client, a stint that resulted in work as a waiter and brought him to the attention of a customer who offered him the opportunity to purchase his own restaurant. Now the owner of a successful restaurant chain, Mr. Efaw looks forward to opening another location within the next couple of years.

An active member of his community, Mr. Efaw donates children's books to local elementary schools. He also volunteers regularly with the Elks Club and various community programs. In his spare time, he enjoys camping, traveling, fishing and watching NASCAR races.
