PORTLAND, OR, May 05, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lupus patients across the country will be able to continue to attend support groups from the comfort of their own home to share their experiences, hope and challenges with others who have lupus. Molly's Fund Fighting Lupus is re-launching its official online lupus support group this Thursday, May 6th at 6 PM (PT).
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects over 1.4 million Americans, whose symptoms include pain, rashes, and intense fatigue. Rural lupus patients face particular lack of support due to their location, but even urban support groups have struggled with regular meetings due to lupus' unpredictable nature.
"We kicked off our online support group forum in March and we immediately encountered some technical difficulties; we have since worked out those technical problems and are re-launching our program - we hope people with lupus from all over the world will join us, and connect with other lupus sufferers and share their experiences, ideas and hope," noted co-founder Molly McCabe of Molly's Fund Fighting Lupus and MollysFund.org.
Upcoming Topics:
May 6th: Stress and Time Management (6pm PT)
May 20th: Maintaining Relationships with Family and Friends during a Flare (6pm PT)
"For many people with lupus, getting to a local support group is simply not an option," said McCabe, "MollysFund.org is changing all that; we hope that others feel the same and come together within our online support environment."
People with lupus can create a free profile at MollysFund.org and register for the next scheduled support group. Registered users can also chat live with other users on the site at anytime. For more information and to register, visit www.mollysfund.org.
