The judges at the 2010 Mexico International Film Festival has selected "The Rise and Fall of their American Dream" as the recipient of the Bronze Palm Award. The jury cited, "... Your film was among the very best submitted from over several dozen countries around the world. Your film demonstrated excellent and outstanding filmmaking and is deserving of special recognition." This prestigious international film festival will take place May 21-23, 2010, at the serene Rosarito Beach Hotel Resort & Spa, situated directly on the Baja Coast in Rosarito, Mexico.
The movie has also been selected for screening at 2010 Hoboken International Film Festival (HIFF) in Hoboken, New Jersey. "The Rise and Fall of their American Dream" will be screened at 10:00 pm on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the Cedar Lane Cinemas in Teaneck, NJ. HIFF has been heralded as "one of the top 10 international film festivals in the world." The 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award will be personally accepted by Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Robert Loggia (Scarface, Big, Independence Day, Jagged Edge).
Written, produced and directed by Nash Bhatt, "The Rise and Fall of their American Dream" revolves around Carlos, Vijay and Mike: three fearless strangers whose relentless pursuit of the fabled "American Dream" intersects. Their fateful meeting forever alters the course of many desperate lives. Carlos illegally migrated from Mexico and is forced to toil for pennies as a mechanic. Vijay is lured from India with the promise of riches by a greedy, conniving Indian motel owner who then enslaves him. Mike, who is indebted to his mob boss uncle, befriends the two immigrants. Their combined courage, ambition and friendship lead them to the top of a criminal empire.
