BARCELONA, SPAIN, June 02, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Travellers should expect to be surprised by the artistic creations of Pipilotti Rist if they are heading to Fundacio Joan Miro near Barcelona hotels this summer.
The art space will be showing off a new collection of work by the Swiss artist, who notoriously used her own body as a medium for projecting her creativity in her 1986 work - I'm Not The Girl Who Misses Much.
She has displayed her work at many of the most important artistic institutions in the world such as the MoMa in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, while her Open My Glade video segments were played on a loop in Times Square.
"Rist never ceases to surprise and provoke us with her artistic explorations that show us mental and aesthetic landscapes while penetrating the deepest level of the personal and collective consciousness," explained the organisers of this new exhibition.
The Fundacio Joan Miro will be displaying her work from July 1st to October 11th, with the venue opening from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 20:00 (local time) and 10:00 to 14:30 on Sundays.
Entrance costs EUR8.50 (GBP7.20) and there is late closing on Thursdays, when people can stay in the building until 21:30.
This show is being sponsored by Fundacio Caixa Girona, which is also putting together another exhibit of her work at the Centre Cultural Caixa Girona-Fontana d'Or in Girona.
For more information on this event visit the Fundacio Joan Miro website or contact the venue on +34 934 439 470.
Commenting on the Pipilotti Rist exhibition, Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, said: "We strongly urge people thinking of going to the Pipilotti Rist exhibition and who need hoteles Barcelona to book early to avoid disappointment."
