LateRooms.com - Duisburg's Love Parade Could Appeal to Dusseldorf Visitors

The 2010 Love Parade is scheduled to take place in Duisburg, close to Dusseldorf.

DUSSELDORF, GERMANY, June 02, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dance music fans from Dusseldorf and cities across Germany are set to flock to Duisburg for the Love Parade this summer.

Having provisionally received authorisation from local and central government figures, the one-day free festival of techno and trance is currently due to take place on Saturday July 24th.

The Love Parade originated in Berlin in 1989, several months before the demolition of the Berlin Wall.

It has since be hosted by German cities such as Essen and Dortmund, as well as branching out into international locations like Mexico City, San Francisco and Caracas.

Duisburg is located within easy reach of Dusseldorf, so people staying in Dusseldorf hotels should have no problem attending the Love Parade.

The prospective line-up for this year's event includes several of Europe's most crowd-pleasing DJs, including French house chart-topper David Guetta, German techno star Felix Krocher and Electric Avenue label boss Monica Kruse.

People heading to the event, which is known for its colourful parade, elaborate costumes and party atmosphere, can look forward to music from many more acts as the day goes on.

Other DJs scheduled to play include Luke Vegas, Pascal Dior, Matthew Sanders and Groove Phenomenon.

Because past Love Parades have faced legal issues and notorious problems with funding, the exact details of the event remain uncertain and it still could be called off entirely.

However, revellers will be keeping their fingers crossed that the festival does return to Duisburg, which is located in close proximity to Dusseldorf International Airport.

Situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Ruhr rivers, the city boasts the largest inland port in the world.

Like its neighbour Dusseldorf, Duisburg also provides a base for the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, one of Germany's major opera houses.

Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, commented: "Demand for the Love Parade is always significant and we recommend that anyone considering attending should book their hotels Dusseldorf as early as possible."
