BARCELONA, SPAIN, June 06, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fans of avant-garde artist Konrad Fischer may wish to stroll down to the Macba from their accommodation in Barcelona to see With A Probability Of Being Seen.
The exhibition, which is running until October 12th, includes a whole section devoted to the German painter's early creations, when he worked under the name Konrad Lueg - his mother's maiden name.
He lived from 1939 to 1996 and studied in Dusseldorf with other celebrated artists such as Gerhard Richter and Sigmar Polke.
Painting as Lueg, Fischer created pieces that concentrated on sporting images and the use of serial motifs, according to the organisers of the show.
They describe him as "an influential figure who undeniably played a significant role in the development of Conceptual art during those early years".
Outside of the opening section of the exhibition the focus switches to the later parts of his career, when he collaborated with many different artists and used his own gallery in Dusseldorf to showcase work by creators such as Giovanni Anselmo and Mario Merz.
Art enthusiasts can enter the Macba between 11:00 and 20:00 (local time) on weekdays - except Tuesdays when it is shut - with the building staying open until midnight on Thursdays and Fridays.
Entrance is permitted between 10:00 and 20:00 on Saturdays and 10:00 and 15:00 on Sundays.
Tickets cost EUR6 or EUR7.50 to see the whole museum.
