BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA, June 09, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People who love spending an evening at the theatre may be interested in watching a performance by the Shorter+Sweeter theatre company in Brisbane.
On July 2nd and 3rd the troupe of actors will present the best of the 1,000 plays produced at Short+Sweet festivals over the last seven years.
Each of the mini-plays will last for just ten minutes, with the whole show comprising nine of these theatrical works.
They span the genres, with drama, comedy and controversy all part of the programme.
Shorter+Sweeter producer Karen Keegan explains: "It gives audiences around the country a chance to see new Australian plays. And if they don't like one, they only have to wait ten minutes for the next one!"
The plays featured in the 2010 tour include Upwardly by Mark Clearly, which is described as a "powerful monologue", as well as Sleepless Night by Jonathan Gavin, a production that is billed as "a comic odyssey of love, lust and loss spanning years and continents".
Anyone staying in hotels in Brisbane who wants to catch the show can see it at the Redland Performing Arts Centre.
Tickets cost AU$34 and there will be two performances, one on the Friday night at 19:30 (local time) and the other at 14:00 on the Saturday.
