FLORENCE, ITALY, June 09, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Young musicians from around the world will be making the journey to Florence for a special event next month.
Running from July 1st to 31st, the Florence Youth Orchestra Festival is open to all international youth chamber and symphony orchestras.
Offering the chance to play alongside renowned soloists in some of the Italian city's most prestigious venues, the festival has attracted groups from the US, Canada and Russia this year.
The UK will be represented by the Bromley Youth Concert Band, while youth orchestras from Spain, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands are also set to take part.
Each orchestra performs three or four concerts during the course of the festival, which uses the courtyard of the Palazzo Pitti as its main venue.
People using accommodation in Florence can expect a varied programme of music ranging from baroque pieces to contemporary sounds.
The event could offer spectators a chance to see the classical stars of the future before they grow up into professional musicians.
As well as the main festival programme in the Tuscan capital, several other towns and cities throughout the region are due to host performances during the festival, including Cortona, Perugia, Reggello and Montecatini Terme.
If you're heading to the Florence Youth Orchestra Festival this year, we strongly advise that you book your hotel Firenze as soon as possible, given the huge popularity of the event.
