PHOENIX, AZ, June 09, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A new study from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center published in the International Journal of Oncology shows that homeopathic remedies can be effective at killing breast cancer cells. This lends support to homeopathic methods of treating cancer developed by the EuroMed Foundation (www.euro-med.us), an Arizona cancer center that has been revolutionizing cancer treatment with conventional and alternative therapies. Known as The George Protocol, these treatment modalities can achieve improvement for patients with cancer and other chronic illness.
"Traditional chemotherapy and other cancer treatments tend to ravage the body, causing a lot of 'collateral damage' in the attempt to kill cancer cells," explained Dr. Frank George, Medical Director Emeritus of the EuroMed Foundation and developer of The George Protocol cancer treatment alternative. "In the past, this has been seen as an unavoidable occurrence, an unfortunate side effect of medically-necessary treatments that were supposed to be effective. At EuroMed, we believe that cancer treatment can be better - targeted and non-toxic."
Each patient at the EuroMed Foundation receives a completely individualized protocol. Different treatment modalities - such as Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT) - are employed to attack the cause of cancer, but also strengthen the immune system. A key factor of The George Protocol is the belief that, given the right "tools," the body can heal itself. In addition to cancer treatments, these tools include nutrition, immune support, and detoxification.
"There has been long-standing criticism that homeopathy is ineffective," explained Dr. George. "While we've seen hundreds of patients who have benefited from treatment, we're up against continued resistance."
"This study from M.D. Anderson provides very powerful and much-needed validation," stated Dr. Robert Zieve of EuroMed. "M.D. Anderson is a widely respected oncology center, so the results of their study will receive a certain level of attention and recognition. This is a very exciting and positive development, because all cancer patients should know that they have options, that traditional treatments are not necessarily the only choice for them."
The M.D. Anderson study investigated the effects of homeopathic remedies on breast cancer cells in vitro (outside the body). Referred to as "complementary and alternative medicine" (CAM), the homeopathic remedies used in the study were based on a protocol developed in India. The study found that the treatment did, in fact, kill cancer cells without damaging surrounding tissue. The authors of the study closed the article by encouraging further investigation of CAM remedies for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer.
"What the authors of the study discovered about CAM for breast cancer, we have long understood for many types of cancer - including lung, colon, lymphoma, and prostate, just to name a few," adds Dr. Zieve. "I believe that further studies will demonstrate the vast possibilities for homeopathic and holistic cancer treatment so that the medical community and the public will have a better understanding of this revolutionary approach."
The EuroMed Foundation (www.euro-med.us) is an Arizona cancer center specializing in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer utilizing the best of conventional and alternative therapies from around the world. The doctors on staff are all highly trained in alternative cancer therapies. Dr. Frank George researched the effects of traditional cancer treatments on the human body and developed his own protocol for a safer, more effective treatment and recovery process. Before becoming certified as an IPT instructor, Dr. George received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.
