Running from July 23rd to 25th, the event will see musicians, street entertainers and Morris dancers perform at venues across the town.

The festival has been running since 1979 and traditionally attracts a dedicated group of fans from all over the country, as well as folk music devotees from further afield.

It is known for encouraging a family-friendly atmosphere, with a number of workshops and children's activities taking place alongside the performances.

A typically diverse line-up has been put together for this year's event, with Yorkshire-based band the Demon Barbers and Spanish folk ensemble Mutenrohi among the headlining acts.

Other performers include traditional Scottish band Lau, young folk star Jim Moray and legendary English songwriter John Tams.

People attending the festival can also look forward to appearances from two of the finalists in last year's BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards - Niamh Boadle and the Carrivick Sisters.

Adult weekend tickets for the festival are priced at GBP81, while single-day evening tickets can be bought for GBP22 and single day tickets cost GBP36.
