Bucky Bingo Pushes Ahead With Online Bingo Charity Drive

    MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, June 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A charity campaign from popular UK online bingo site Bucky Bingo is enjoying strong support as it enters its second month.

The fundraising effort - which pledges to donate GBP1 for every bingo fan who 'Likes' the campaign page on social media site Facebook - was launched in support of UK charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer last month.

So far, the Facebook charity campaign has raised GBP342, which will be donated towards Breakthrough Breast Cancer's fight to save lives and improve futures through research, campaigning and education.

The UK online bingo site hopes to raise up to GBP5,000 through the pledge page on Facebook; this will be added to the total of more than GBP20,000 that parent company Buckingham Bingo has already donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Andy Cunningham, chief executive officer of Buckingham Bingo, said: "Breakthrough is a charity which is particularly close to our hearts at Buckingham. Our annual Bingo for Breakthrough fundraising week sees everyone across the company - staff and players - coming together to raise thousands of pounds for the cause.

"This new initiative is a way for us to harness our burgeoning Facebook fanbase and bring them into the fundraising fold in aid of this fantastic charity."

To join the campaign, individuals just need to visit the Bucky Bingo Facebook page and hit the 'Like' button at the top - GBP1 will then be donated on their behalf.
