COTSWOLDS, ENGLAND, June 20, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A sleepy Gloucestershire village will become a bustling hub of live music performances for one week next month.
Now in its 40th year, the Guiting Festival runs from July 23rd to 31st in Guiting Power, near the towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water.
Featuring a varied programme of classical and jazz performers, the festival offers people using hotels in the Cotswolds an opportunity to sample village life while enjoying live music in idyllic surroundings.
Artists appearing at this year's event include cellist Natalie Clein, a former BBC Young Musician of the Year.
She will be playing with pianist Katya Apekisheva on Friday July 23rd, while the afternoon of Sunday July 25th will feature an outdoor concert led by the six-member Jazz Repertory Company.
Other anticipated highlights include a recital by violin soloist Tamsin Waley-Cohen and a performance from acclaimed jazz singer Jacqui Dankworth.
Joanna MacGregor, the festival president, will round off the programme with a piano recital on Saturday July 31st.
She is due to perform music by Bartok, Janacek and Chopin, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the great Polish composer's birth.
Adult tickets for each concert are priced at GBP12, while those aged 18 and under will be charged GBP6.
