FLORENCE, ITALY, June 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People using hotels in Florence next month may like to head to the nearby town of Pistoia for one of the region's longest running music festivals.
Taking place between July 14th and 18th in the picturesque Piazza del Duomo, Pistoia Blues will bring a host of international artists to a stage set up under the Tuscan sun.
Holidaymakers should not be fooled by the title, as the event began as a blues festival but has since expanded its horizons to include artists from many other genres.
It certainly has a prestigious history, with past editions featuring the likes of BB King, John Lee Hooker, Carlos Santana and Bob Dylan.
This year, the line-up includes Porcupine Tree, Buddy Whittington, Gamma Ray, Buddy Guy, Micah P Hinson and Mario Biondi.
Pistoia Blues has been going since 1980 and remains a highly popular event among music lovers in Tuscany.
One-day tickets are priced at EUR40 (GBP33), while two-day passes can be purchased for EUR69 with a seating allocation or EUR57.50 for standing only.
The event also gives travellers a chance to explore Pistoia, which features many well-preserved medieval buildings within the walls of its old town.
Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, commented: "Demand for Pistoia Blues is always significant and we recommend that anyone considering attending should book their hotel Firenze as early as possible."
