The Norwegian folk pop duo are set to play at the Italian city's La Venaria Reale venue on Firday July 23rd, with tickets available from EUR30 (GBP24.60) plus booking fee.

Also appearing at several major festivals around Europe next month, the pair are known for their subtle acoustic sound and soothing harmonic vocals.

Kings of Convenience formed in Bergen and released their debut album, Quiet is the New Loud, to much critical acclaim in 2001.

Comprised of childhood friends Erlend Oye and Eirik Glambek Boe, the band have produced two more studio albums, including last year's Declaration of Dependence.

Oye, whose solo album Unrest was released in 2003, also recently enjoyed success with his Berlin-based side project The Whitest Boy Alive.

The Kings of Convenience gig, which will get underway at 21:30 local time, is one of many concerts taking place at La Veneria Reale this summer as part of the Real Music series.

Other scheduled performers at the royal palace complex include Phoenix, Massive Attack, The Cranberries, Gotan Project and Simple Minds.
