MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, July 06, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The more agility a service-oriented architecture (SOA) demonstrates in adapting business processes to meet evolving market conditions, the more strategic it becomes to the enterprise. Many companies are driving agility with business rule management, eventing technologies, and complex event processing (CEP). Not only do they provide effective means for handling business processes, they also separate business logic from the infrastructure code to facilitate easy, robust changes and rapid evolution.
IT architects and developers can learn best practices for using rules and CEP within their SOAs by attending the interactive online class, "Extending SOA with CEP, Eventing and Rules" (http://wso2.org/training?soa070610). The three-hour session is being offered at no cost as part of the WSO2 SOA Summer School program. It will be held on Thursday, July 8, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific.
By walking through a set of real use cases, attendees will gain insights into using events and publish/subscribe models, as well as learn how complex event processing can extract real-time information from multiple event models. The session also will look at the role of rules within an SOA and demonstrate how to quickly encapsulate business rules as services. Additionally, the class will review how to separate business rules from infrastructure code to facilitate interactions with business analysts and recognize the different timelines for evolving these two types of code. Techniques will be demonstrated using WSO2's award-winning Carbon middleware platform, including the recently launched WSO2 Business Rules Server and a beta version of the WSO2 Event Server, which is scheduled to debut in Fall 2010.
Leading the class are Srinath Perera, WSO2 architect (http://wso2.com/about/engineers/srinath-perera?soa070610), and Asanka Abeysinghe, WSO2 director of solutions architecture (http://wso2.com/about/leadership/asanka-abeysinghe?soa070610). In addition contributing to WSO2 technology innovation, Srinath and Asanka both bring proven expertise in helping WSO2 enterprise customers to successfully deploy their SOAs.
