BILBAO, SPAIN, July 09, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A charming exhibition at the Bilbao Guggenheim Museum entitled Learning Through Art 2010 kicked off recently, showcasing art created by youngsters in the region.
Running until August 22nd, the display features paintings and other pieces produced by 184 youngsters aged between six and 12, who will no doubt be delighted to see their work up on the walls of the prestigious venue.
Hotel Bilbao guests who are keen to check out this display should head to Gallery 103 B, where it is being shown.
The venue pointed out that this provides the schoolchildren with the unforgettable experience of having thousands of people viewing their work.
"This educational programme is conceived to use art-based activities as a means of reinforcing areas of primary school curriculum, ranging from environmental awareness to mathematics," explained the organisers.
Learning Through Art was originally established in New York in the 1970s at the city's own Guggenheim art space and has been running at the Bilbao venue since 1998.
All schools in the Basque Autonomous Community are eligible to be a part of the initiative.
Tickets for the museum cost EUR13 (GBP10.74), with the venue opening between 10:00 and 20:00 local time every day throughout July and August. It is closed on Mondays for the rest of the year.
