SEVILLE, SPAIN, July 09, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Female art lovers may wish to stop in at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporaneo (CAAC) during their trip, as the exhibition Nosotras may prove to be interesting and inspiring.
The show, which features art made only by women, will no doubt be fascinating for men too, who may learn more about the issues and goals of female artists.
Running until September 26th, the exhibition was born out of two other successful displays - one was held at the CAAC in 1993 and featured the work of local women and the other is currently on show at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
The organisers have noted that visitors from some of the fine accommodation Seville has to offer will see how much diversity there is within this category of art.
According to the CAAC: "The Parisian exhibition has proven that female artists are perfectly capable of narrating 20th century art. This is something that has been at the foreground from the 60s until the present day, a period that the CAAC specialises in."
One of the artists involved - Carrie Mae Weems - also has a full exhibit dedicated to her at the venue called Social Studies.
Visitors can see both exhibitions between Tuesday and Saturday, from 10:00 to 21:00 local time and 10:00 to 15:00 on Sundays.
During July and August, opening hours from Wednesday to Friday change to 10:00 to 15:00 and then 20:00 to midnight.
Entrance costs EUR3.01 (GBP2.48).
For more information on this event visit the CAAC website or contact the venue on (+34) 955 03 70 70.
