Orlando Personal Injury Attorney Melvin Wright Receives Three Major Accolades from his Peers in the Legal Community

    ORLANDO, FL, July 16, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Colling, Gilbert, Wright & Carter is proud to announce that Orlando personal injury attorney Melvin Wright has recently received three major honors from his peers in the legal community. He was named to the Florida Legal Elite 2010 for Civil Trial by Florida Trend magazine, nominated to serve on the Fifth District Court of Appeals Judicial Nominating Commission, and appointed to the Florida Bar Standing Committee on Advertising for 2010-2013.

The Florida Legal Elite 2010 recognizes the upper echelon of attorneys practicing throughout the state, and the winners are chosen by their colleagues. Only 1,160 were selected to this elite group, representing approximately 1.8% of Florida's 64,000 attorneys. Florida Trend magazine recognizes top tier attorneys based on the area of law they practice. Mr. Wright was chosen as a representative for the Civil Trial category.

Mr. Wright was also one of six lawyers to be nominated for two open positions on the Fifth District Court of Appeals Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC). From these six nominees, the governor will appoint two attorneys to serve on the JNC. In total, there are 26 JNCs throughout the state. Each commission contains nine members who serve staggered terms. The governor directly appoints five of the nine members. The other four are selected from a list of Bar-approved nominees. Mr. Wright is in the running for one of these Bar-approved positions.

Mr. Wright's has also been appointed to the Florida Bar Standing Committee on Advertising for 2010-2013. The committee establishes guidelines for Florida lawyers on the permissible limits of legal marketing under Florida Bar rules.
