    BERLIN, GERMANY, July 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The final of the European Beach Volleyball Championship tour will come to Berlin next month, with some of the biggest names in the sport set to battle it out for the title.

Taking place at the O2 World venue between August 11th and 14th 2010, it is the sport's only international tournament to be held anywhere in the world this year.

It will be the third time that the European contest has come to Germany, following the success of the 2004 event in Timmendorf and Hamburg's hosting of the finals back in 2008.

Local fans will no doubt be cheering for last year's world champions Julius Brink and Jonas Reckermann, as well as German national team stars such as Katrin Holtwick and Ilka Semmler.

Teams from a whole host of countries will compete in both the men's and women's contests, including the likes of Italy, Poland, Serbia and Ukraine - although sadly the UK will not be represented in either.
