BARCELONA, SPAIN, July 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Art enthusiasts may wish to head to Barcelona's Fundacio Joan Miro this summer to check out an exhibition of Sirous Namazi's work, entitled Interior.
The Iranian-born artist spent much of his life in Sweden and represented the country at the 52nd Venice Biennial, combining sculpture and painting effortlessly.
Guests at all the cheap hotels Barcelona has to offer have a chance to see the work of this celebrated creator, which is on show at the Fundacio Joan Miro until September 5th 2010.
Namazi does not restrict himself to painting and sculpting either, since photography, video and straight-forward drawing also have parts to play in his work.
This exhibition features a series of pieces created by the artist, including Interior - hence the title of the display - which involves a series of seven dark photographs of a Stockholm apartment and explores the notion of visibility.
Other parts of the show include Territory, Box and Series of Drawings, which is the most recent of the items.
"His work often springs from urban landscapes and can be positioned within a very broad framework of three-dimensional expression that encompasses large sculptures as well as small objects," explained the organisers.
Tickets cost EUR8.50 (GBP7), although people can choose to only see the temporary exhibition and pay just EUR4.
Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 until 20:00 local time - with the venue staying open until 21:30 on Thursdays - and between 10:00 and 14:30 on Sundays.
For more information on this event visit the Fundacio Joan Miro website or contact the venue on +34 934 439 470.
