DUSSELDORF, GERMANY, July 28, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fans of Massive Attack may be planning to make a Dusseldorf hotel booking for the group's forthcoming gig in the city.
The Bristol-based trip hop pioneers are currently touring on the back of their latest album Heligoland and are due to reach Dusseldorf's Philipshalle venue on Wednesday September 29th.
Tickets for the event are currently priced at EUR44 (GBP36.70) and the band will be on stage from 20:00 local time.
Known for their dark, brooding sound and hits such as Protection, Teardrop and Unfinished Sympathy, Massive Attack are one of the most critically acclaimed British groups of recent years.
Their debut release Blue Lines emerged in 1991 and is frequently lauded as one of the greatest British albums of all time.
Released in February this year, Heligoland is the band's fifth studio album and features vocal contributions from Blur's Damon Albarn, Martina Topley-Bird and Elbow frontman Guy Garvey.
As the record takes its name from a small German archipelago in the North Sea, Massive Attack's music could be particularly relevant to audiences in Germany this year.
The group, which is comprised of core members Robert '3D' Del Naja and Grant 'Daddy G' Marshall alongside a host of frequent collaborators, are known for their atmospheric live performances.
Usually combining eye-catching visuals with political messages, the stage show is sure to thrill fans of the group's classic trip hop sound.
The Philipshalle is one of Dusseldorf's leading venues for live music, as the indoor arena can hold up to 7,500 people.
Other acts due to perform there in the coming months include Limp Bizkit, Katherine Jenkins and the Steve Miller Band.
